In the midst of the Arabian desert lies the venue for the 2010 MotoGP just outside of Doha, Qatar. The Losail circuit has gained popularity since it was built in 2003 and hosted its first international motorcycle race in 2005. In 2008, the circuit became renowned for hosting the first-ever floodlit MotoGP race.
The track is 5.380km in length, making Losail one of the longest circuits in the MotoGP calendar, and it's main straight is over 1km long. The race at Losail is undoubtedly one that cannot be missed, since the featureless landscape makes it extremely challenging for racers to be able to distinguish the twists and turns of the track. Plus, the desert location can also affect the tyre grip and ability to brake.
